For 62 years Davies has been a green company. Not because we had to be, not for a tax write-off, or because it was trendy, but because being green is the foundation of our business. We’re remanufacturers of office furniture. Our whole business is based on the the re-use and or recycling of products. There is no more environmentally friendly process out there.
We start with workstations, desks, files, chairs, etc. that have reached the end of their lifecycle. We strip them down to their core materials, sand off the paint, strip off the fabric skins. Next we repair each component, removing any dents, replacing any core materials or parts that are damaged. Finally, we remanufacture each component, right back to their original standard. We repaint (using low VOC paints), relaminate desktops (using water based glues), and recover panels (using primarily recycled fabrics).
What you end up with is office furniture that is indistinguishable from new furniture, for a fraction of the cost of new.
What you’re NOT left with is a bigger landfill, HUGE amounts of wasted energy and natural resources.
Davies Office Refurbishing Inc. (“Davies”) has committed itself to the journey of continuous improvement to become a more sustainable company. Davies adheres to the triple bottom line of sustainability whereby environmental, social and economic aspects of doing business are integrated into our culture. As a part of our journey, Davies will move beyond regulatory compliance and be guided by its corporate Sustainability Policy presented here.

Anyone can claim that they’re socially responsible, but can they back up that claim? A big part of being socially responsible is to publically report your policies and the policies of your partners, by tracking your continued progress toward improving your business practices and to show what you’re doing to lesson your impact on the environment. We’ve chosen to make all of that information, as it relates to our business, public. We will continue to document and share our progress with anyone interested.

Davies is committed to trying to remanufacture and re-use as much furniture as possible for as long as possible, but we know that sometimes you may need to recycle our products. We want to help keep as much furniture out of landfills and save as many natural resources as possible. Here are some links that will help you recycle Davies Remanufactured Product. We’re working on much more so stay tuned if your particular product line isn’t posted yet.
